Furnitalia was breathed into life by husband and wife team Dmitriy and Ella Aks in February, of 2004.

Furnitalia has been a vision of theirs since they moved to the United States from Russia well over 10 years ago.   The idea sparked, when they found themselves frustrated with the lack of fine contemporary Italian furniture showrooms in Northern CA.  They decided to take matters in their own hands by purchasing the furniture, direct from Italy.  Within no time, the Aks’s home became a mini showroom.   With an influx of requests from friends, they began to open their home to people searching for high end contemporary design and began reselling the furniture.  Believing, Sacramento has a large contemporary following, they were determined to bring contemporary Italian furniture to their home town in a broader spectrum, other than their home.  With passion for contemporary design and the desire to bring only the finest quality of craftsmanship, Dmitriy and Ella set out to find the best Italy had to offer.

                Their researches lead them to Excelsior Designs. Established in 1981 the New York based company exemplifies what true Italian craftsmanship is, designed for the American market.  With 6 different product specific factories throughout different regions of Italy, Excelsior Designs embodies the idea that quality creates beauty and design is inherent.  As an Interior Designer back in Russia with very discerning taste, Ella loved the beauty, creativity and timelessness of Excelsior’s furniture. Dmitriy with his Masters in Engineering was impressed with Excelsior’s innovation, craftsmanship and attention to detail.  They both knew that Excelsior Designs was the main attraction for their showroom.  With the addition of Nicole Miller furnishings by Excelsior Designs, Casa Novalia, Nicoletti Italia and Weiman Preview, Dmitriy and Ella believed they had the making of the showroom they always envisioned.  Lending to the beauty of the furniture lines they carry, they designed one of the most beautiful showrooms in the nation.  No detail was left out while creating an environment to present the furniture they both passionately love and believe in.  People travel from all over to visit Furnitalia and no one ever leaves unimpressed.

 With the belief that customer satisfaction is imperative to a successful business, they were determined to not only set their showroom apart by the furnishings they offered, but by the service that followed.  To date, Furnitalia is known as one of the most reputable contemporary furniture dealers’ in the nation.
